Kyoushuu no Sora

郷愁の空 [kyoushuu no sora : homesickness sky]

by 和楽器バンド [Wagakki Band] | on 八奏絵巻 [yasou emaki]
Lyrics & Music: 町屋 [Machiya]
Translation by Aka

.
michibata ni mebuku shinryoku ga
ha ga tojite otozureru yuugure
hitotsu futatsu akari, tomori
maki no moeru kaori ga shita
kono machi ni wakare wo tsugeta
ano hi kara dore dake sugitarou
“sukoshi dakedo kao wo agete”
aruitemiru kurai michi wo
.
The sunset comes to close the leaves
of the fresh greenery blooming at the roadside
One or two lights burn
Giving off the smell of burning
Since the day I said I would leave this town, some time has passed
“Hold your head up a little”
I tried taking that dark path
.
.
itsumo doko ka de tsukaeteite
nanika wo osoreteite
sou ne mune no oku de yonda furusato wo
.
Wherever whenever I tire
And there’s something I fear
I call out to the hometown in my heart
.
.
minna, mayoi no naka de hikari wo sagashiaruki tsukarete
fui ni subete ga iya ni natteshimai tachitomaru
soshite kaeru basho wo motomeru no da to dare ka ga itta
sonna ki ga shite miageru no wa tokai no yozora
.
Everyone, when you tire of searching for the light in the confusion
And you suddenly stop still, hating everything
And someone says you desire a place to return to
With that feeling, what you look up at is the night sky of the city
.
.

kakasu koto no dekinai kako
nido to kaeranai to chikatta
ano hi kara dore dake sugitarou
itsunomanika toshi wo totte
koboreochita
“gomennasai”
.
Standing still in silence
If I reminisce on the many days I remember
The past where I couldn’t do anything
Since the day I promised I would never return, some time has passed
Before I knew it, I had grown older
And it all flowed out
“I’m sorry”
.
.
itsumo tooku de kikoeteita
higure no kane no ota da
yatto kuchi ni dashite ieta
“arigatou”
.
I can always hear it far away
The sound of the evening bell
Surely what was said was
“Thank you”
.

“okaerinasai”
Everyone, when you tire of searching for the light in the confusion
And you suddenly stop still, hating everything
And someone says you desire a place to return to
Looking up with that feeling at the sky
Try believing “Tomorrow will surely come”, “There is a future”
Even just a tiny step is definitely an advance
And one day hold out your chest
For the sake of somebody, hold out your arms, saying,
“Welcome home”
